The Short Version

FunHoard is a self-hosted application. Your media files, user data, and usage information stay on your own hardware. We don’t collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data.

What FunHoard Stores Locally

When you use FunHoard, the following data is stored on your own device:

  • User accounts — Usernames, hashed passwords, and user preferences
  • Media metadata — File names, paths, extracted metadata (title, artist, duration, etc.)
  • Usage data — Playback progress, playlists, favourites, and saved searches
  • System settings — Server configuration and preferences

All of this data is stored in a local MongoDB database on the machine running the FunHoard server. None of it leaves your network.

What We Collect

Nothing. FunHoard does not phone home, send telemetry, or communicate with any external servers. There are no analytics, no crash reporting services, and no usage tracking.

Mobile Apps

The FunHoard iOS and Android apps connect only to your self-hosted FunHoard server. They do not communicate with any third-party services. Media downloaded for offline playback is stored locally on your device.

Third-Party Services

FunHoard does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services. The application is fully self-contained.

Cookies

The FunHoard web interface uses a JWT authentication token stored in your browser’s local storage. No tracking cookies are used.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page. Since FunHoard doesn’t collect any data, changes are unlikely to affect you.
